IN PERSON PROCESS can be printed in Jackson or Grenada MS the week prior to start (48 hr turn around) REMOTE PROCESS 10-14 days needed for processing) Unit4 South Medsurg Neuro unit- # Beds: 26- Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients- Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, charge RN's have ACLS- Common diagnoses/Types of patientsStrokes, Neurology patients, - Experience or 'Must have' skills: level 1 trauma experience required. experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3south only - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit?: Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, central monitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nurses station and every patient is on tele - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?Both. Nurse managers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house sup. charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. educator and manager for each unit. Smaller units share manager and eduacator. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: all units - RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.): cpap bipap at night, RT to help, high flow on 2n, - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a, - travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows, open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required- Weekend Requirement: every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department - Holiday Requirement: rotate in with regular staff - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: no - Floating Requirements?: within skillset, all staff float between all medsurg units. higher acuity patients would be given to core staff- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: any color, needs to be solid color and professional - Unit/Department specific orientation: first day, all paperwork and attestations, logins for Omnicel and Epic, show around unit (a few hours), discuss scheduling. 2 additional shifts with preceptor Cancellation Listed Charting Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR 2014 Certified EHR Suite BSN License to Trauma Level:1 Care Shift Notes:12 hr nights Required , NIHSS Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Contract Weeks:91
