Position Summary
The incumbent has 24/7 responsibility for and oversight of the coordination of care for patients and families within the department. The incumbent shall plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the people and activities of the department to ensure the delivery of high-quality cost-effective patient care. The incumbent has fiscal responsibility for resources that are defined during the budget process. The position is accountable for human and material resource acquisition, maintenance, and allocation as well as quality, and performance improvement outcomes.
The position's primary focus is on employees, patients, families, physicians, and key contributors from other departments who impact the services of the assigned departments. The success of the department depends significantly on the incumbent's ability to participate and collaborate with other leaders within the Division of Nursing and the Medical Center to produce the outcomes needed for optimal patient care and throughput.
Essential Job Outcomes & Functions
The clinical operations director is accountable for implementing new services, policy formation, human resource management, implementing organizational initiatives, meeting financial performance targets, patient care services, medical staff management, staff relations, and regulatory compliance.
The clinical operations director is responsible for the supervision and management of the staff, coordinators, supervisors, and leadership team in the area of responsibility. This responsibility includes the coordination and implementation of the day-to-day operations of the departments.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required, Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
Nursing certification preferred.
Magnet and TJC survey experience preferred.
Candidate shall have 3-5 years of experience in ambulatory care nursing, specialty care preferred.
Candidate shall have 5-7 years in nursing management including leadership of diverse teams and specialties.
Demonstrated leadership skills and interpersonal relationship management.
Ability to handle high volume multispecialty pediatric center with large staff and multiple physician groups.
Flexible and adaptable to the changing healthcare environment.
