About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** CVICU (Cardio/Thoracic) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, 12-hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years as a traditional traveler or first-time traveler with 2 years of experience and experience with Cerner or EPIC **License:** Registered Nurse License **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Experience with Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, CRRT, medication titration, IABP, Impella, EKOS, vent management, Tandem Life/Tandem Lung **Job Description:** - Provide care for patients in a 12-bed CVICU unit, specializing in post-op CABG, valve surgeries, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO, post-cardiac arrest, post-heart cath, post-op vascular surgery, and critical care. - Utilize skills in invasive monitoring and advanced life support, managing complex equipment and interventions. - Engage in medication titration and meticulous monitoring of patient hemodynamics. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes. - Maintain accurate and detailed records in Cerner EMR system. - Float to like units/patient locations as required. - Support available from a certified nursing assistant, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and hospitalist. - Responsible for telemetry monitoring; proficiency in reading and measuring tele-strips required. - Participate in a rotating weekend schedule and holiday expectations as per facility policy. - Attend 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours of unit-specific orientation, unless otherwise determined upon rehire. - Flexible in working every other weekend and possibly back-to-back weekends, though rare. - Adhere to the unit dress code with flexibility in scrub colors.
