The Parker Jewish Institute in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking a seasoned and professional Clinical Director of Nursing to join our team of professionals in Nursing Administration overseeing Long Term Care and Infection Control functions.
Position Overview:
In this high-profile role working alongside with caring, dedicated, and experienced senior nursing leadership, the Clinical Director of Nursing oversees and ensures effectiveness of the daily operations of Parker's Long Term Care and Infection Control department. As a senior leader, you will manage, coach and empower staff, ensuring effective management of the team that develops and maintains a system of care that promotes sound and scientific infection prevention principles and practices.
Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Clinical Director of Nursing is also responsible for overall compliance with, including development and implementation of, Nursing Department policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Although not all inclusive, these are the key attributes we are seeking:
- New York State RN license
- BSN or BA in Nursing or a related field; Master's Degree a plus
- Prior experience as an ADON, Nurse Manager or similar role
- Infection Control certification strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques, current practice, CDC guidelines and definitions of nosocomial infections, JCAHO standards and governmental regulations
- Prior experience in Infection Control, Education or similar role strongly preferred
- At least three years of demonstrated supervisory/management experience
- Demonstrate leadership ability; able to lead teams and empower staff
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills
- Communicates effectively with others; is cooperative and helpful
- Manages interruptions to triage resident care priorities and changing situations
- Vaccinated against COVID-19
