Responsibilities:
- Actively support department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit including shift charge, department and/or service line.
- Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards.
- Act as liaison between physicians and patient care team.
- Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
- Position does not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serves as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties.
- Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing required, Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
- Bachelor’s -Degree in Nursing preferred.
- One year experience within ICU or equivalent required
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
- RN License required, Current state nursing licenses or valid RN licenses from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
- BLS/CPR (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association) w/in 6 months of hire or transfer date.
- NIHSS w/in 6 months of hire or transfer date.
- PALS w/in 6 months of hire or transfer date.
- TNCC or TCAR within 6 months of hire or transfer date.
