The Cardiology RN works with the Echocardiology and Nuclear Departments to assist in the coordination of patients through the testing areas in a safe and timely fashion. Assist the RN Supervisor/Manager in the supervision and evaluation of the licensed clinical staff for compliance with all company policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and standards of practice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administers medication IV for testing purposes
- Provides direct patient contact for Cardiac Stress testing, echocardiography and ensures a safe patient environment
- Provides continuity of care for positive testing outcomes
- Communicates with the Cardiologist and RN Supervisor/ Manager of problems or adverse events during patient testing
- Direct and indirect monitoring of patient's 12 lead EKG rhythms and vital signs during testing and in the immediate recovery period of diagnostic testing procedures
- Provides direct patient care before and after cardiovascular procedures
- Supports standards of care in association with compliance to all state and federal regulations, standards of practice and SMA policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:
- Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of Nevada
- CPR/BLS
- 3+ years of relevant nursing experience (preferably in critical care, ICU, ER, or Cardiology)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 1+ years acute Cardiology experience
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Knowledge: Professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care
- Proven solid customer service/communication skills
- Skills: Able to perform clinical cardiology skill assessments, invasive processes and emergency care. Fluent in all aspects of cardiology care. Able to use critical thinking skills during complicated diagnostic testing procedures. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Basic computer skills. Able to establish intravenous access for patient testing procedures and emergency situations
Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
