The Risk & Underwriting Manager will oversee the Risk and Underwriting team and procedures. This individual must be a dedicated, detail-oriented team player with a vast reservoir of professional skills and proven success in risk management, underwriting, project management and operations management within the merchant bankcard industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively manage the risk and underwriting teams
- Thorough understanding of risk and underwriting of low risk and high-risk accounts.
- Improve and implement risk and underwriting policy and procedures.
- Monitor and manage department SLAs
- Stay current with industry regulation, compliance, fraud trend, and technology shifts.
- Train team on industry regulation, compliance, fraud trends, and technology shifts.
- Track, monitor and report risk performance statistics on regular basis
- Forecast and manage portfolio performance to be within compliant thresholds.
- Account reserve management and reporting.
- Monitor merchant chargeback remediation plan.
- Support all escalations for Risk and Underwriting issues.
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance during the underwriting processes.
- Assist with the implementation of new ISO/Bank relationships
- Work closely with sales, customer service, and deployment teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new merchants.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate the ability to solve critical business issues using innovative solutions
- Proven ability in providing excellent and personalized customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent understanding of credit risk assessment and underwriting principles.
Education/Experience:
- Merchant Services Industry Experience Required
- Risk and Underwriting management experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- ETA CPP certification preferred
SALARY:
This role includes quarterly profit-sharing bonuses as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, retirement planning, and/or other benefits.
- Base salary range: $94,000 - $125,00
- Salary including quarterly profit-sharing bonus and comprehensive benefits program range (annualized): $120,525 - $157,725
