RISK MANAGER

RISK MANAGER
The Risk Manager is responsible for corporate risk identification and mitigation strategies while ensuring alignment with company goals, engagement and partnership with operational team members, and compliance with industry standards.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Lead coordination with Operations, Safety, Human Resources, and Accounting teams, among others, to develop, execute, and monitor robust risk assessment and mitigation programs.
- Develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive risk management plans tailored to each operating company in collaboration with leadership and mindful of the unique characteristics and objectives of each business.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with key Operations personnel in each company.
- Acquire influence, engagement and support across the organization to allow for a comprehensive understanding of risks, objectives, and productive solutions.
- Develop supporting external networks, conduct research, and maintain an exceptional understanding of industry trends, proven solutions, and objectively supportable best practices for mitigating risk.
- Drive corporate communications, engagement, and partnership to enhance our culture of proactive risk awareness and mitigation.
- Develop strong knowledge of construction contract terms and risk management tactics related thereto, and assist Operations personnel with related contract negotiation issues, as needed.
- Train Operational staff and supporting corporate personnel on various topics related to risk identification and mitigation to drive a proactive, knowledge-based, culture around managing risk.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures, as appropriate, related to risk management matters.
- Lead the renewal process for corporate property and casualty insurance.
- Participate in and/or lead internal audit projects and other special projects, at the discretion of the Chief Financial Officer.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required
Experience:
- Requires 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience developing and implementing comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, fostering strong business relationships, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in risk management, insurance or business operations within engineering or construction industries preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of implementing successful strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, driving strategic initiatives, and providing guidance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and risk management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods and techniques.
- Experienced in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), and possess the ability to adapt to new software.
- Must have strong people skills and the ability to gain influence, build relationships, drive culture, effectively communicate, and function as a trusted advisor.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational capabilities.

Physical and/or Travel demands:
- Frequent sitting, use of keyboard/monitor, use of 10-key, and use of telephone.
- Ability to read detailed documents, spreadsheets, and reports on a computer screen.
- Occasional, infrequent travel to regional offices and/or project sites may be required.
Benefits and Compensation:
- The range for this position has been established at $98,000.00 to $138,000.00 per year and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
- Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
