Hospital Director Risk Management Position - Leading Southern California Healthcare
A 140-bed acute care hospital in Southern California seeks an experienced Hospital Director Risk Management to oversee comprehensive risk management and patient safety programs across two nearby campuses. As Hospital Director Risk Management, you'll report directly to the CEO while serving as the facility's Patient Safety Officer and Compliance Officer.
The Hospital Director Risk Management will lead day-to-day operations for risk management, accreditation/regulatory compliance, and infection control initiatives. The Risk Management Director role requires collaboration with senior leadership, medical staff, and corporate partners to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety. The ideal Hospital Director Risk Management candidate will bring proven experience in healthcare risk assessment, investigation of serious incidents, and implementation of preventative measures.
Key responsibilities of the Hospital Director Risk Management include maintaining risk management databases, conducting facility-wide risk assessments, and participating in root cause analyses. The Healthcare Risk Management Director position involves leading educational initiatives on risk management best practices, overseeing policy development, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Working closely with clinical leaders, the Hospital Director Risk Management will establish and monitor compliance with care standards in high-risk areas including Emergency, ICU, Surgery, and OB departments.
This Hospital Director Risk Management position includes managing claims and litigation processes, investigating serious incidents, and coordinating with corporate risk management teams.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and comprehensive knowledge of healthcare risk management principles. The Hospital Director Risk Management must be able to build effective relationships across departments while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional standards. Experienced healthcare leaders with the Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management certification CPHRM or Certified Professional in Patient Safety CPPS are encouraged to apply.
