Job Title: Risk/Internal Control Manager
Location: Hybrid – Arlington, VA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Pay Rate: $45-$55/hr
Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk/Internal Control Manager to support the Environmental & Disposal Liability AAT. This cross-functional team works collaboratively to assess situations, develop strategic plans, and align resources for effective action. The ideal candidate will have expertise in federal financial management, risk assessment, and internal controls to drive process improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify internal controls to mitigate financial and compliance risks.
Develop and maintain Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs) to track and manage audit risks.
Apply federal accounting standards (FASAB) and GAAP to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Design and implement corrective actions to address audit risks and strengthen financial controls.
Map end-to-end financial and operational processes to identify potential inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with stakeholders to support Environmental & Disposal Liability AAT initiatives and objectives.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance required.
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management OR certification such as CPA, CISA, PMP, CGFM, or CDFM.
Minimum 4 years of experience in federal financial management.
At least 2 years of experience in federal accounting.
Expertise in risk identification and internal controls, including the development of RACMs.
Strong knowledge of FASAB standards and GAAP.
Proven ability to design and implement corrective actions for audit findings.
Experience with end-to-end process mapping to improve financial workflows.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
Experience working with Federal or DoD clients.
Knowledge of Environmental & Disposal Liabilities.
Background in performing federal audits.
Familiarity with cost estimation for Environmental & Disposal Liabilities.
