Overview:Work closely with the firm Principals to direct and manage Business Development efforts. Develop promotional concepts and new client business opportunities for the firm in all areas of service and geographic locations. Perform research and development of new market segments.
Responsibilities:Leadership and Direction
- Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
- Provide oversight and direction of department or business unit including strategy, budgeting, staff, and deliverables.
At the Operational and Company Level
- Identify, formulate, and execute strategic initiatives for regional business growth aligned with the corporate long term strategic plan.
- Maximize contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new enquiries for the business.
- Provide input to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give Bowman strategic leverage for future projects.

- Understand customer needs and assist in the development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities.

- Bachelor's degree in business, or related field required.
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Ten or more (10+) years of business development, sales, and marketing experience.
- Five or more (5+) years of experience working within the AEC industry.
- A demonstrated track record of creating new business opportunities and securing new business.
- Must be able to travel as defined by business development opportunities.
- Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
