Olive Recruiting is looking for an experienced Rigging Foreman to support a steel fabrication and erection client in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The Rigging Foreman is an essential leadership role that will be responsible for all project activities.
Location: Washington DC metropolitan area
Full-time, direct hire with client
Schedule: Variable pending project demands (standard hours are 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay with a comprehensive benefits package
Responsibilities:
• Hands on supervisory role with the ability to effectively rig utilizing forklifts, cranes, skates, jacks, and other necessary equipment
• Manage all on-site activities of the rigging crew
• Develop, plan, and execute crew activities, ensuring alignment with customer and sales team expectations for job direction
• Lead the workforce to achieve operational goals related to volume, cost, quality, safety, and scheduling.
• Supervise and collaborate directly with one or more machinery moving teams
• Serve in a hands-on supervisory capacity, demonstrating expertise in machinery movement using forklifts, skates, jacks, and cranes
• Train and instruct rigging crews on best practices and safety procedures for machinery movement
• Coordinate with safety personnel to manage safety training, and handle accident, injury, and equipment or property damage investigations and reporting
• Build strong relationships with both customers and employees through effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Oversee job site projects by accurately documenting and organizing project information to ensure completeness
• Support field technicians with the assembly and erection of machine tools
• Travel to customer job sites and manage all on-site activities
• Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing daily housekeeping duties as required
• Exercise creativity and independent judgment as needed
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation
• Undertake other job-related responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' proven rigging/machinery moving foreman experience or comparable field preferably within the rigging industry
• Minimum 5 years' rigging experience with forklift, skating, leveling, and anchoring of machines
• Valid Driver's License, Class A CDL preferred but not required
