Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a RF Systems Engineer to join the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 46 TS / TGBC.
The data link test flight is searching for Systems Engineer with Radio Frequency knowledge and some work experience who is interested in designing, constructing, and supporting test and evaluation electronic systems in our Advanced Program Lab (APL). We realize that no one will possess all the qualifications listed below. We are looking for people that have a strong engineering education, some experience and have the drive and motivation to learn other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from assisting a team lead as a team member to leading a project team.
This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron/TGBC at Eglin AFB as a Project Engineer. This is NOT a remote position; however, limited telework opportunities may be authorized as mission requirements allow.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and 0-3 years of applicable technical experience is required. Six years of applicable technical experience may be substituted for the BS degree or four years of applicable technical experience with a technical Associates Degree.
- US Citizenship: Ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance prior to start date and obtain a final DoD Top Secret (Single Scope Background Investigation) at the completion of the government process.
- Understanding of digital data RF systems and their employment.
- Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Must be capable of traveling to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, both CONUS and OCONUS. Travel time could be up to 25%.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience with fourth (LINK16, SADL) and fifth (MADL, IFDL) generation tactical datalinks interoperability testing, implementation, and operations.
- Possess a current and active Top Secret security clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform as a member of the Tactical Data Link lab test and support team.
- Provide technical support, conduct data analysis, and apply knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff.
- Provide support to lead engineer and/or work independently in planning, developing, executing, and reporting on data link test operations.
- Directly support other engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs, as well as development contractors.
- Develop and review architectures for lab and systems under test.
- Will coordinate test assets, support assets, and data collection device availability to ensure successful test events.
- Support data analysis working groups to measure system performance and conduct root cause analysis.
- Conduct technical research, development, test and evaluation, and reporting of emerging technological systems affecting the performance of all datalink test programs.
- Assist with post-test analysis and results reporting.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend technical solutions required to meet assigned task.
- Attend meetings as necessary to provide briefings, information, recommendations.
- Review technical plans and reports for technical accuracy.
- Travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations.
- Perform or conduct test procedures, data management, data reduction, data analysis, configuration management, hardware setup, and hardware troubleshooting and documentation.
