Aquinas Consulting is currently look to fill a CONTRACT RF Electrical Engineer Job in Merrimack, NH for one of our key clients in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. In this role, you will serve as a specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the areas of radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic field. You will be responsible for supporting EE teams across multiple programs, providing technical input, performing analysis and making design decisions in all phases of the design process.
RF Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out specific project responsibilities as part of larger program objectives involved in the design and development of products, equipment, or processes. May design, lay out complex items.
- Develop specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, bill of materials, against which designs can be produced.
- Conduct RF computer simulation to analyze, test or design power amplifiers operating in VHF, UHF, L, S and C bands
- Verify designs in the lab environment working with RF equipment including but not limited to spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, RF signal generators, power supplies, power meters, and advanced oscilloscopes.
- Produce innovative technical solutions to customers’ problems.
- Power Amplifier Design: broadband up to 6GHz, High Power 200W, 100% duty cycle, LDMOS, GAN, GAAS
- Modulation waveforms: AM/FM, Pulse Radar, SINCGARS, LTE, WCDMA, MUOS.
- RF design analysis: isolation, broadband noise, cross-coupling, spurious emissions, intermodulation, compression, self-resonance, half/full duplex systems.
- RF Drivers: medium and low power, up to 20W, high gain
- RF components: directional couplers, transformers, attenuators, switches, PIN diodes, mixers, Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA).
- High speed RF switching
- RF detectors: peak and RMS
- Filtering for cosite mitigation and harmonic emissions.
- Automatic Level Control Loops
- Linearization: Analog Pre-distortion, Envelope tracking, Bias techniques
- Up/Down converters.
- ICs: DAC, ADC, op-amps, comparators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required and at least 9 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred and at least 7 years relevant experience in the industry (defense/government contractor experience preferred but not required).
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Knowledge of theories, concepts, principles, and processes in the field of RF Electrical Engineerin.
- Experience in one or more of the following RF design and simulation tools: Cadence AWR Microwave Office, ADS.
- Experience in one or more of the following design tools: Siemens Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or Altium schematic capture and PC layout tools.
- Experience with LTSpice
- Military power amplifier design expertise operating in the following bands and amplification levels:
- L-Band Frequencies 1710 – 1855 MHz
- S-Band Frequencies 2200 – 2500 MHz
- C-Band Frequencies 4400 – 5850 MHz
- Peak power level of at least 50.5 dBm for L/S
- Band peak and 51.2 dBm for C Band
- Various waveforms including CW
