- JOB SUMMARY
- Directly supervises and manages daily operations of assigned revenue cycle functions. Encourages and integrates team members to maintain a high-functioning revenue cycle. Supervises staff to ensure quality and productivity performance and promotes awareness of departmental processes, policies, and goals. This role will work closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager to execute the assigned revenue cycle team’s overall direction, coordination, and performance.
- DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
- Maintains knowledge of industry data and regulatory changes; ensures staff are appropriately educated about and compliant with payer guidelines, state and federal regulations, and industry updates
- Evaluate team results to ensure compliance with quality and productivity expectations and identify opportunities for improved results
- Participates in recruiting, hiring, and training practices; monitors and provides performance appraisal for staff. Performs API approvals and disciplinary actions with staff.
- Communicates any operational changes and improvement initiatives to AR Collectors; provides education and training as needed
- Assists team on challenging, problematic, and unresponsive accounts as necessary; escalates critical or ongoing issues to manager
- Provides testing and technical support as well as engages in problem solving actions with team members
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA guidelines and ensures staff maintain discretion when handling patient information
- Performs additional duties as assigned
- EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum requirement:
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in medical billing and/or collections
- Ability to coordinate, direct, and supervise the work of others
- Proficient in intermediate computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- HBI CPFSS Certification or equivalent within 6 months of employment date
- Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five years of relevant experience in medical billing and/or collections
- Three to five years of supervisory experience and/or position with increasing responsibilities
- HBI CRCL Certification or equivalent
- Minimum requirement:

- Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.
