They are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Woodworker to assist their team and help students safely and effectively use fabrication tools, develop their skills, and complete their projects.
Position Summary:
The Carpenter/Woodworker will support the educational fabrication department by mentoring and supervising students in safe and efficient carpentry and woodworking practices. This role is integral to fostering a hands-on learning environment where students gain practical experience in prototyping and fabrication.

Work Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in safely and effectively using woodworking and carpentry tools, including hand and power tools.
- Assist students in prototyping and fabricating projects, guiding project design, material selection, and best practices.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and enforce safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all facility users.
- Demonstrate and provide instruction on various woodworking techniques, materials, and processes.
- Support students at all experience levels, from beginners to advanced, and tailor guidance to fit individual needs and projects.
- 3+ years of experience in carpentry, woodworking, or a related field, preferably with experience in an educational or mentorship role.
- Proficiency with a range of woodworking tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication machinery.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a workshop or fabrication environment.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to teach students from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Familiarity with prototyping and fabrication processes in an educational setting is a plus.
