Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are seeking an energetic, hard-working, organized, and dedicated Expert Retention Specialist/Trial Preparation Assistant to join our team.

- Responsible for retaining all experts as requested by the assigned team of attorneys.
- Securing retained expert's service agreement, CV, fee schedule, and W9.
- Ensure retainer fees are requested from the insurance carrier and that any invoices for retainers and/or retainer agreements are forwarded to the carrier.
- Providing the initial set of documents for the expert to review.
- Scheduling Independent Medical Examination with experts.
- Maintaining expert productions as relevant file materials are received including medical records, radiology studies and documents for production to retained experts on a daily basis.
- Preparation of trial/arbitration exhibit lists, electronic exhibits with Bates labeling, and trial/arbitration exhibit binders.
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and demonstrative exhibits including charts, graphs, and video editing.
- Communicate with attorneys and support staff regarding deadlines associated with trial/arbitration exhibits to ensure timely production
Expert Retention Specialist/Trial Preparation Assistant requirements:
- Must be technologically savvy -working knowledge of Excel, Adobe, Word, and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and maintain important deadlines, and stay on task.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Prior law firm experience is required.

The hourly range in California for this role is $24.00 - $26.00 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
