Position Summary:
The Retail Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and meeting sales goals. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of the store team to create a positive shopping experience for customers while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Oversee daily activities of store associates, including scheduling, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance.
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure that all customers receive prompt and courteous service.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional manner.
- Foster a positive shopping environment to enhance the overall customer experience.
Store Operations Management:
- Monitor and manage day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and compliant with company policies and standards.
- Supervise the cash register operations, ensure accuracy, and address discrepancies.
Sales and Inventory Management:
- Track sales performance and assist in developing strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Monitor inventory levels, perform regular stock checks, and coordinate with inventory staff for replenishments.
- Implement merchandising standards to optimize product display and sales.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Prepare and submit operational reports, sales data, and other required documentation.
- Address any discrepancies or operational concerns with management promptly.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
- Respond to operational challenges and unforeseen issues with effective problem-solving skills.
- Act as the main point of contact in the absence of store management.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- 1 to 2 years of retail or customer service experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
