Sundance was founded in 1969 by Robert Redford when he purchased land at the base of beautiful 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. This pristine place became the Sundance Village, and at the base of the Village was a tiny store. Guests would frequently write letters to the store requesting special items they had seen while visiting Sundance, and thus the idea for Sundance Catalog was born.

It started small. Robert Redford called together a few of his colleagues to discuss starting a mail-order catalog to fill these requests and to make Sundance's unique items available to a wider audience. The first edition of Sundance Catalog was mailed in 1989, and since that first catalog, it remains the Sundance vision to share "the kinds of things that we have been privileged to collect, many of them handcrafted exclusively for Sundance."​

Summary

We are seeking an individual to assist us at our retail store in Southlake, TX. The Store Manager drives store sales by offering outstanding customer service, providing a high level of attention to detail on product presentation, and maintaining product in-stock position.  This will be achieved by selecting, training, motivating, and developing a team capable of executing the tasks required to maintain the standards of a world-class retailer. Must effectively manage store personnel, operations, and maintain a positive and energetic work environment. The Store Manager is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the store and must consistently demonstrate and uphold the Sundance culture with the utmost integrity.

Responsibilities

Customer Service/Sales

1. Consistently exceeds the expectations and requirements of both the internal and external customer.
2. Runs the store from the floor. Acts as a floor leader and sets example through actions.
3. Listens to customers and uses their feedback to improve service levels in the store.
4. Achieves budget sales, payroll and inventory goals. Analyzes sales trends and develops plans and schedules to maximize profits and minimize costs.
5. Resolves issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
6. Provides ongoing sales and product training for the staff to achieve sales goals.

Store Teams

1. Is dedicated to recruiting, hiring, and training a talented management team. Develops team so that store is fully always staffed, and turnover is kept to a minimum.
2. Provides challenging goals and assignments to ensure all associates are trained and perform to company expectations.
3. Motivates and develops associates and management team by providing product training, sales training, service techniques, and having frequent developmental discussions with team members. Writes and delivers all management performance appraisals.
4. Meets regularly with management team to discuss sales trends, product assortment, inventory levels, new operational procedures, and hiring needs. Uses data to inform and establish weekly and monthly goals.
5. Holds quarterly store meetings to inform team of sales trends, goals, new product information, seasonal promotions, provide selling techniques training, and recognize team members.
6. Selecting, training, motivating and developing a team capable of executing the tasks required to maintain the standards of a world-class retailer.
7. Must effectively manage store operations, personnel, and maintain a positive, energetic work environment.
8. Must consistently demonstrate and uphold the Sundance culture with the utmost integrity. Will be a liaison between corporate retail operations and the retail store.

Standards of Operations

1. Maintains disciplines for visual standards, store cleanliness, safety, and operations – all executed and implemented in a timely, cost effective manner.
2. Monitors inventory procedures and sees that shrink goals are met.
3. Consistently enforces all company policies and procedures. Performs opening and closing procedures and ensures bank deposits are performed to expectations.
4. Keeps open and responsive communication with District Manager.
5. Upholds loss prevention and security standards to prevent theft and maintain a safe environment.
6. Maintains compliance with all legal requirements and postings.

• 5+ years of retail leadership experience
• Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results
• Proven record of developing great talent
• Computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficient use of retail POS, ordering, and inventory management systems
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Lift and carry merchandise, typically weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, and reach to organize shelves and assist customers.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays
