About the Job
The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for growing the Holt Cat brand within a defined geographic territory and call plan through direct customer interaction and in collaboration with the account managers for new and used sales within the Building Construction Product (BCP) family of machines, work tools, and service plans. In addition, this position will support sales related functions such as walk in customers, marketing initiatives, product demonstrations, and retail inventory display maintenance.
Essential Functions:
Drives the retail customer experience through management of the sales process, display inventory, lead funnel, sales campaigns, and customer interaction in collaboration with marketing and outside sales representatives
Locates develops, and maintains new prospects and existing customers for new and used equipment through customer-facing activity and technology-based solutions
Prepares and communicates machine pricing, finance options, and sales/rental agreements independently and in collaboration with outside sales representatives
Supports the Holt sales initiatives through account management, cold calling, influencing walk-in customers, and deal management from initiation to close
Influences customer purchasing decisions by emphasizing features and benefits through the use of Caterpillar’s value proposition
Demonstrates BCP inventory through the use of showroom displays, marketing tools, websites, and literature
Performs job requirements at various Holt facilities as well as off-site locations including customer offices, job sites, and neutral meeting spaces
Provides legendary customer service for internal and external customers
Meets and exceeds individual and department goals for selling, quoting, customer satisfaction results, and prospecting on a monthly basis
Maintains detailed sales activity within Holt Cat’s CRM tool (Sales Link)
Manages sales order workflow and documentation through COTI
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of construction and rental industry equipment
Knowledge of basic operation and applications for Caterpillar, Non-Cat Products, and Attachments
Knowledge of all shipping and receiving for all machines and attachments for operations
Knowledge of merchandising programs with HOLT and Cat Finance
Knowledge of business accounting principles
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Intermediate computer and related software applications skills
Advanced MS Office Suite skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to interact with tact and courtesy and maintain a professional manner
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Minimum of two years of work-related experience and skills relevant to the position
Bilingual preferred
Additional Requirements:
Valid Driver’s license required
