Retail Sales Manager - Aquatica Chicago

Aquatica Tinley Park is the leading fish store in the south suburbs of Chicago. We are looking for a retail sales manager to help us maintain our store and advise our dedicated clients.   As aqua-nerds we are proud to serve our local community of fish geeks!  This is an in-store position where you will manage retail inventory, sell customers aquariums, and advise customers about their purchases.  Someone with retail management experience and a strong desire to learn the aquarium industry will be a good fit for this role.

Qualifications

• Aquarium and fishkeeping experience desired
• Management experience required
• Retail inventory stocking and ordering experience required
• Customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Managing 3 to 5 hourly staff
• Retail inventory management
• Advising customers about their aquariums and fish
• Selling customers fish, aquariums, and aquarium supplies
• Problem solving customer requests about their fish and aquariums
• Connecting with customers; being positive and outgoing at all times
• Demonstrating a passion for aquatic life; sharing excitement with customers
• Store is open Tuesday through Friday 11am to 7pm; Saturday and Sunday 11am to 5pm
• Retail environment, so weekend shifts are required
• Ability to lift weights up to 35 pounds
• Ability to climb a 6-foot tall ladder

Benefits

• Salaried position.  Pay dependent on experience; $45K to $75K a year depending on experience
