Description
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
Stamp, marks, or tags price on merchandise.
Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
Answer customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
Total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.
Accept payment and makes change.
Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
Clean shelves, counters, or tables.
Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
Calculate sales discount to determine price.
Keep record of sales and prepare inventory of stock.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months experience working in retail store environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Ability to operate a Point of Sale Cash Register.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals; ability to compute percent.
