A Brief Overview
The Retail Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the daily operations of the Retail Pharmacy and will complete a variety of tasks. The Technician will coordinate with the Retail Pharmacy and Inpatient Units to assist in providing patients with medication at bedside before discharge. The position will require transport and delivery of pharmacy orders to patient home and to facilities.
What you will do
- Assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient information, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, and labeling accordingly.
- Responsible for working with and educating patients on our services and providing options for the patient at the bedside. The goal is to ensure patient has necessary medications and information before leaving the hospital.
- Work with case managers, nursing staff, physicians, and unit clerks to identify which patients are being discharged.
- Responsible to collect and deliver prescriptions orders to the patient at bedside, provide all required medication education, obtain necessary signatures, offer counseling, and collect payment.
- Transport medication orders and other related deliveries to patient homes and to facilities. Will be provided with vehicle and route, and will obtain signature upon delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service to current and potential customers. Assist patients in the retail pharmacy to sell medications and over the counter products. Will handle cash and electronic payments.

Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience Required
Experience Qualifications
- Retail pharmacy technician experience Preferred
- Proven customer service experience Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Licenses and Certifications
- LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech Valid NJ Pharmacy Technician License Upon Hire Required
- PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech National Accredited Certified Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Preferred
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid NJ Driver's License Upon Hire Required
