What You’ll Do:
- Assist customers and technicians in selecting and locating parts with professionalism and a friendly approach.
- Provide price quotes, ensure full product line exposure, and handle special orders.
- Manage stock, place emergency orders, and keep parts inventory organized.
- Keep counter areas clean, maintain orderly records, and participate in annual inventory checks.
- Stay updated with product training and offer high-quality service to all customers.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and manufacturer training preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive parts and dealership operations is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Provides high level of service to internal and external customers.
Pulls and fills orders from stock.
Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
Ensures that all charged sales are signed by the customer.
Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
Keeps orderly records of all special order parts.
Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Cleans computer terminals and printers daily.
Participates in all training programs that are made available.
Keeps current on new products and product updates.
Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
Maintains professional appearance.
Receive cores and warranty parts for credits and returns daily.
Inspect shipments at loading and unloading for damage and quantities daily.
Pull all warranty parts when they are paid for and dispose of them properly weekly.
Pull parts returns and fill out appropriate paper work for credits daily.
Assist in physical inventory annually.
Secure building at close daily.
Inspect warranty parts returned from technicians for correct quantities, sign the back of the repair order, and write down the parts being returned on the back of the repair order daily, and sign it daily.
Place all warranty parts in the correct bin location in the warranty room as per company policy daily.
When billing out a part with a core charge, bill the part out, then credit the core back when the dirty core is returned to the parts department. Take part out of the box and give the part to the technician. Take the Core box from the Technician and write the repair order number on the box, the date the RO was written, technician's initials, and write core on the box, keep the box in the parts department until the core part is returned daily.
Count all UPS/FedEx verify counts and sign for them daily.
Bill out oil on a repair order when the technician calls in with the repair order number and quantity daily.
MARGINAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows up on back-ordered parts.
Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.
Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
Solicits assigned accounts by phone.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
