Retail Maintenance Technician Level B
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing assigned work involving routine and non-routine types of preventive and ongoing maintenance (this includes repairs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and machine servicing). In addition, they are responsible for adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures while complying with safe work practices and assisting other members of the maintenance teams and working effectively with other internal staff as needed to assure service excellence.
They rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform assigned mechanical maintenance work to ensure efficient ongoing operation of assigned location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and preform routine and non-routine types of preventive and on-going maintenance.
- Perform repairs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and machine servicing.
- Assist other members of the maintenance team to ensure service excellence.
- Consult with outside vendors or internal staff to ensure problem resolution.
OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job)
- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner. This may include machine assembly, machine disassembly, machine adjustments and non-formal equipment training as needed to positively affect efficiencies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Education:
- Completion of two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge/experience
- Completion of basic industrial electricity course or equivalent knowledge/experience
Licensing Required:
- Valid driver's license
Experience:
- Four or more years' experience in the building trades or commercial facilities maintenance
- Experience utilizing computerized energy management systems (BAS) preferred

- Solid time management and organizational skills essential
- Computer skills (Outlook). Excel and Word desired
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to follow all food, personal, safety and sanitation guidelines including hand washing, wearing proper uniform, sanitizing, repairing, maintaining equipment and tools to guard against contamination, and assure all product is safe for consumption
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter
- Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of equipment and work tools in a retail food environment
- HVAC, preventive maintenance and operational ability
- Knowledge of motor controls, photo eyes, proximity sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes
- Maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA and all other regulatory agencies
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
