Job Title: Retail Associate / Job Coach
Reports To: Retail Director
Starting Rate: $18.00 / hour
Job Summary:
As a Retail Job Coach at Good Cause Gifts, you will be responsible for delivering excellent
customer service, maintaining the store's appearance and assisting customers with
product selection. You will work with and supervise individuals with special needs and
support the directives in place for those individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner. Handle all
customer issues professionally and efficiently.
• Sales: Provide customers with product recommendations and assist with product
selection. Maintain knowledge of products on the sales floor.
• Store maintenance and visual merchandising: Keep the sales floor clean and
organized. Ensure that displays and shelves are well-stocked and visually
appealing.
• Inventory: Help receive and organize merchandise shipments. Ensure products are
properly labeled and tagged.
• Transaction processing: Operate the point-of-sale system and handle
transactions accurately.
• Supervise and train adult individuals with special needs: Work to teach our
Consumers to greet and assist customers in selecting merchandise. Direct
Consumers to stock the sales floor and other retail business-related tasks. Support
Consumers in the implementation of their programs through direct service,
monitoring of performance and policy protocols. Must be able to transport
Consumers to store locations in own vehicle.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred or equivalent life
experience in Human Services.
• Experience:
o Previous retail experience highly preferred.
o Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred but not
required.
• Skills:
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong organizational skills.
o Basic math and cash handling skills.
o Ability to exercise discretion and work independently with general
supervision.
Requirements:
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and own personal vehicle
Work Schedule:
• Flexible availability, including weekends as needed
• Part time, approximately 15-20 hours a week
