Habitat for Humanity Golden Empire is seeking an enthusiastic ReStore Retail Manager for their store located in Bakersfield, California. The ideal candidate will have retail management experience and strong customer service skills to help further the “Habitat Mission of Giving.”
Position Summary
The ReStore Retail Manager oversees all aspects of the Habitat's ReStore retail operations. This includes managing staff and volunteers, creating schedules, maintaining fiscal accountability, and ensuring efficient Point of Sale (POS) system management. The ReStore Manager plays a key role in supporting the organization's mission by driving revenue growth, fostering community engagement, and promoting a positive, customer-friendly retail environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary Range $56,000. - $67,000.
- Benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
- Eligible for medical benefits after successful completion of a 90-day introductory period.

Primary Responsibilities
* Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily operations of the ReStore, ensuring efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.
- Oversee store layout, merchandising, and inventory to maximize sales.
- Soft marketing experience is a plus.
- Ensure the store meets safety and cleanliness standards.
* Staff and Volunteer Management:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise ReStore staff and volunteers.
- Foster a team-oriented environment that aligns with Habitat’s mission.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training as needed.
* Financial Accountability:
- Monitor and analyze sales trends, budgets, and financial performance.
- Prepare and submit regular fiscal reports to the Executive Director.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation processes.
* POS System Management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure seamless transactions.
- Train staff and volunteers in the proper use of POS systems.
* Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with donors, community members, and local businesses to encourage donations and partnerships.
- Represent the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity at community events.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management or equivalent leadership experience in the retail field.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and generating reports.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply. (Bilingual not required.)

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
