Restorative Nurse Duties/Responsibilities
· Develop, organize, and implement a Restorative Program.
· Work closely with the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing to assess the quality of nursing care being delivered and recognize the need of improving or changing nursing practices.
· Make daily rounds to evaluate patient care, the progress of individual employees, monitor nursing practices, and assist with nursing and educational needs.
· Perform and oversee functional evaluations on admission, quarterly and/or as clinically indicated.
· Consult and work with nurses to develop and recommend restorative plan of care.
· Oversee that all restorative nursing measures are documented and reflected on the care plan.
· Ensure that all proper ADL documentation has been completed for patients.
· Attends care planning conferences and makes recommendations.
· Report progress of restorative nursing measures.
· Attend Interdisciplinary/QAPI meetings as indicated to provide feedback and identify any residents for evaluation of restorative service needs.
· Orientate new staff relative to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of restorative nursing.
· Coordinate with Director of Nursing and Therapy to provide ongoing education/evaluation of direct care staff relative to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of restorative nursing.
· Actively participate in physical restraint reduction and fall management programs.
· Set up documentation flow sheets for daily documentation of restorative nursing measures for each resident on the program in coordination with medical records.
· Perform or supervises the performance of restorative nursing staff.
· Serve as a liaison with all therapists: physical, occupational, and speech.
· Participate in patient care planning and CMI meetings.
- Particpiate in Manager on Duty rotation
· Other duties as assigned.
Restorative Nurse Qualifications/Requirements
· 3+ years of Restorative Nurse experience preferred.
· Experience is SNF/LTC is preferred.
· Illinois RN or LPN license
· Restorative Nurse Certification
· CPR Certification
· Put patients first; ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
· Must pass a background check.
