About the Job
We are seeking an enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to join our FOH Operations Team for one of the most iconic hotels in Gloucester, MA. Our full-service upscale-casual restaurant has been turning heads with outstanding modern American cuisine, an outstanding wine list, and personalized service since our inception. Ideal Restaurant/F&B Managers will come from high volume, upscale restaurants and possess exceptional wine, beer, and spirits knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and a genuine passion for elevating the guest experience! This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with guests in our restaurant & bar area. The Restaurant Manager should possess a strong passion for elevating the guests dining experience while acting as the liaison between the Kitchen and the Dining Room to truly provide top-notch service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Management team in leading the daily operation of the restaurant, while directing day-to-day activities and assignments of the front-of-the-house team.
- Organize and assist with conducting pre-shift and departmental meetings, and communicating information to the team members, such as menu changes.
- Assist with scheduling team members, to ensure proper coverage is maintained to uphold service standards.
- Work seamlessly and in tandem with the team to create memorable experiences for our guests.
- Accurately execute all policies with improvements to quality, service, and operations.
- Engage in the ongoing development of the front-of-the-house team, while holding the team accountable for maintaining standards.
- Must be present on the floor during peak business periods, to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Create an environment of engagement for team members, while being a liaison between team members and management.
- Practice and ensure cleanliness and safety in all dining areas, liquor, and wine storage areas.
- Monitor employee performance and issues, to effectively coach and counsel team members.
- Assist the Restaurant Management Team with any other assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 years of high volume, upscale restaurant management experience.
- Strong training background.
- Highly proficient and knowledgeable with wine, spirits, and beer.
- Focusing on the guest experience and initiative-taking.
- Ability to lead a large team of PT / FT associates.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry-relevant POS experience.
