Restaurant - Line Cook - The Colonnade Hotel

Experienced in 'made from scratch' cuisine with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and try new things. The ability to follow recipes is paramount.

• Culinary school/ training preferred but solid career experience is definitely a plus!

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Broil, grille and/or sauté

• Handle knives

• Operate kitchen equipment

• Follow recipe and presentation guidelines to meet or exceed guests' expectations

• Label food and ensure proper rotation

• Meet special guest requests while ensuring same high-quality standards

• Prepare high quality food items to order for our guests

• Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations and Hotel requirements.

Skills, Abilities and Experience needed to be successful

• A good knowledge and understanding of knife skills, sanitation and cooking methods and be able to apply them in food production.

• Qualified candidates must have previous culinary or cooking experience in a restaurant or hotel.

• Professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures preferred.

• Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Food safety training certification highly desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the you will be regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. You must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
