We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager for a new restaurant opening in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in restaurant management, with specific experience in new restaurant openings (NRO). This role will require a highly organized, hands-on leader who is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, building strong teams, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring smooth opening, day-to-day management, and long-term success.
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff to build a high-performing team aligned with the brand's culture and service standards.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, ensuring efficiency and consistency in all aspects of service, kitchen operations, and customer experience.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders during the pre-opening phase to ensure a seamless transition to opening day.
- Manage all aspects of the restaurant’s financial operations, including budgeting, cost controls, inventory management, and revenue generation.
- Drive guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and ambiance.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute promotional strategies that drive awareness and sales.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by leading by example and maintaining strong staff morale.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting operations as necessary to meet business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in restaurant management, with a strong background in opening new restaurants.
- Proven success in leading a team, managing budgets, and ensuring operational excellence.
- Experience in managing all aspects of front-of-house and back-of-house operations, from hiring and training to inventory and financial management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail and service quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, POS systems, and scheduling tools.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
