As the General Manager at Mason Street, you will direct all facets of our destination restaurant and must ensure that food, service, and operational standards are maintained at all times. The General Manager must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and take ownership of the business unit and all aspects that influence its overall success.

What you will be doing:
- Interview, select, train, supervise, and discipline restaurant staff, organize pre-shift and departmental meetings, and manage staff scheduling and assignments.
- Interact positively with customers to promote hotel facilities, services, and the Marcus Rewards Program; resolve issues and ensure 100% table visits with guests.
- Work closely with the sales & marketing team to maximize revenue. Bring forth revenue-producing ideas for special events and holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Thanksgiving.
- Monitor food quality and service standards by checking temperature, appearance, and taste, and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistency.
- Maintain profitability by controlling payroll and equipment costs, ensuring par stock levels, and tracking menu abstracts and private parties.
- Utilize the POS system for accurate customer charges and revenue reports, and manage data input and retrieval.
- Implement and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the restaurant.
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance, ethics, and self-image, and administer sales promotions and employee incentive programs.
- Stay informed about competition and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Maintain an appropriate level of involvement in community and public affairs.
- Support hotel policies and procedures, assess employee performance, and maintain accurate records of staff performance.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years as a Restaurant Manager in an upscale or destination setting, with 2+ years in food and beverage supervisory roles; fine dining or steakhouse experience preferred. Experience working with a labor union would be helpful.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, preparation techniques, and a passion for wine, beer, and spirits, with the ability to understand wine varieties, labels, and vintages.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle high-stress situations and interact effectively with guests and employees.
- Knowledge of Micros POS and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for inventory management and financial tracking.
- High school diploma required; degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand and move about in restaurants and kitchen areas for the entire shift.
- Friendly, warm, and welcoming demeanor with strong motivational skills to engage associates and guests.
- Proficiency in English required; additional language skills preferred.

Salary Estimate: $95,000-$110,000/year
