Respiratory Therapist - (RRT) - Orange, CA
Deliver exceptional respiratory care to pediatric patients in a dynamic medical center!
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our partner, a leading medical center in Orange, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing comprehensive respiratory care to infants and children across various units, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU), and Emergency Department (ED).
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans for pediatric patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions.
- Perform various respiratory procedures, including:
- Oxygen therapy and aerosol treatments.
- Mechanical ventilation management.
- Airway management.
- Pulmonary function testing.
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation.
- Capillary blood gas (CBG) draws and analysis.
- Venous blood gas (VBG) analysis.
- High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management.
- Administer respiratory medications as prescribed.
- Utilize various respiratory equipment and modalities, including Draeger, Servo I, Trilogy, and EV300 ventilators.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Cerner electronic health record system.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RRT.
- Must be comfortable floating to PICU, CVPICU, and ED.
- Strong experience in NICU, PICU, and ED is required for first-time travelers.
- Proficiency in pediatric respiratory care procedures and ventilator management.
- Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and pathophysiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current BLS, SCLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
Schedule:
- Full-time position, 3x12 hour night shifts.
- Start dates available: 02/03 or 2/10.
