LOCATION: Lexington, Kentucky

Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
May perform tobacco cessation education, bedside PFT, EKGs, etc as ordered by the provider.
Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Qualifications:
Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care License.
Graduate of a CRT or RRT Program required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.

Facility is 80 bed acute care hospital.
Positions are night shift 7pm-7am and will have to rotate weekends.
The range is $24hr-$36hr depending on experience. They have an excellent benefit package and will offer some relocation/sign on bonus.
