Job Summary:
Onehome is looking for Respiratory Therapist in the Jacksonville area. The Respiratory Therapist provides patient care for people suffering from chronic or acute respiratory illnesses. This may include services that improve a disease sufferer’s quality of life through therapy, medications, and the use of specialized equipment.
What to expect in your role:
- Conduct pulmonary function tests
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results
- Help in determining respiratory treatment plans
- Aid patient treatment plans by administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems and drainage
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assist with breathing exercises, and monitor physiological responses to therapy
- Evaluate effects of therapy by observing and noting progress while recommending adjustments and modifications
- Complete discharge planning while consulting with other members of the care team
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan by designing home exercise programs, recommending, or providing assistive equipment and home health follow-up programs
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements at all times
What you need to succeed:
- A minimum of three years of experience in respiratory care
- Current Florida RRT/CRTT License
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent
- BCLS and ACLS certification
- Stays Current with industry standards by reading/attending educational presentations
- Represents onehome in a positive and professional manner in the community
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
