Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our residents. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients with breathing disorders in our Long Term Care facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders.
- Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and response to therapy.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress in medical records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a Long Term Care setting.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
