Job DescriptionAHRC NYC is looking to hire a Full-Time Resource Navigator to work within their Staten Island Advance & Earn program. The Resource Navigator position has an annual salary of $45,000 and comes with a low-to-no cost, comprehensive health benefit package which is just one way that AHRC NYC supports the wellbeing of our employees and their families. The Resource Navigator will support program participants in accessing various programs to obtain needed benefits and supports such as housing, childcare, HSE classes, etc. S/he will work closely with the Licensed Master Social Worker and DYCD to ensure compliance with the Advance and Earn training program directives and with all NYS human service laws.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:40pm
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain positive working relationships with program participants to help them obtain community and/or health services that they may need.
- Establish relationships with different community and government agencies providing services that participants may seek.
- Assist participants with their applications for supportive services and make appropriate referrals.
- Develop a resource directory of local social service providers and governmental agencies – mental health, housing, medical care, higher education, childcare, transportation, etc.
- Deals with participants in a legal and ethical manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or counseling required with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with opportunity youth.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and resourceful, with ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, program participants, employers, community agencies and DYCD.
- Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Flexible to operate in a rapidly-changing working environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to the organizational culture.
- Bilingual language skills highly desirable.
- Valid New York State Driver’s license preferred.
