Superintendents at Fairbank Construction Company are trusted and empowered witha great deal of responsibility. They are not constrained by rigid protocol butasked to achieve results, so long as their approach is consistent with theoutstanding client service and high-quality standards of our Company. Theyoversee the day-to-day decisions and operations at the Jobsite and work closelywith our Project Managers, Owners and Architects/Designers, and subcontractors.They are expected to lead their construction teams to maximize the talent on thejob to achieve the highest level of quality construction.Responsibilities: * Must be customer service oriented. * Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the Foreman, Sub-Contractor, and craft employees on construction projects. * Safety Conscious. Responsible for all aspects of job site safety. * Mentor and implement safety policies and procedures. * Determines work priorities and coordinates work activities within the design area and with others outside of the office; apportions work among employees according to abilities or specialized training. * Coordinates new construction and major remodeling, which involves scheduling meetings and reviewing project documents (e.g., contracts, specifications, blueprints) as necessary. * Collaborates with administrators on the supervision of all work operations. * Keeps cost records on work performed and materials; is responsible for controlling costs in materials and wages. * Exercises control over the rate of construction progress to complete construction project within time limits, schedules jobs, and operations. * Estimates materials needed for specific jobs; estimates workforce required for particular jobs. * Leads inspection and commission of day-to-day construction work to enforce conformity to specifications. * Acts as an advisor on job-related problems. * Interfaces and respond to individuals requiring information or service, such as agencies, department heads, or others. * Train employees on the job to develop them into the next level of construction professional. * * Qualifications and Skills: * 15 years of superintendent experience, five years high-end, custom residential * Experience working through design details and construct-ability challenges directly with architects and designers to achieve design intent * Construction Management degree, or relevant education plus experience * Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications * Journeyman-level carpentry skills * Excellent communication, team-building, and mentoring skills * Ingenuity based on technical knowledge and experience with both traditional and new materials * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project * Experience with Sage 300 CRE is a plus but not required * Ability to seek solutions and resolve problems independently * US work authorizationWhat We Offer * Company Health and Life Insurance Plans * Paid Time Off * Paid Holidays * 401k Retirement PlanWhy Work with Fairbank Construction?We are a fun, passionate group of professionals who take a lot of pride in thework we do.
