Key Responsibilities
- Installation
- Perform high-quality installations of HVAC systems such as heat pumps, split systems, air conditioning units, Trane and other leading brands.
- Accurately measure, layout, and fabricate duct systems for new installations.
- Connect and test wiring, piping, and components to ensure system functionality.
- Service and Maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, including mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to maximize system performance and efficiency.
- Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, and thermostats.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide prompt, professional resolutions.
- Customer Interaction
- Provide clear, professional communication about diagnoses, repairs, and installation processes.
- Present repair, replacement, and upgrade options with transparent, upfront cost estimates.
- Sell system upgrades and enhancements, earning commissions and bonuses for exceeding customer expectations.
- Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety standards and company policies during installations and repairs.
- Maintain proper documentation for each job, including service reports and equipment specifications.
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to deliver exceptional service.
Qualifications
- Experience
- Minimum of 4+ years in HVAC installation, service, and maintenance (residential focus).
- Experience with light commercial HVAC systems is a plus.
- Skills
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong communication and sales skills to explain options and close upgrade opportunities.
- Familiarity with Trane systems is highly preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications
- Journeyman's License in the state of KY (Required).
- EPA Certification (Required).
- HVAC/R Certification or equivalent (Preferred).
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Attributes
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
