We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for residential construction projects. This role involves evaluating project scopes, calculating costs, and managing budgets to ensure successful project delivery. The estimator will work closely with sales reps, project managers, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure the highest quality and cost-effectiveness of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Evaluations:Create accurate estimates for sales teams and clients, analyze project scopes, requirements, specifications, and blueprints for residential custom homes, renovations, kitchen & bathroom remodels, decks, patios, driveways, swimming pools, and hardscape projects. Determine accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, machinery, and supplies.
- Cost Estimation: Develop precise pricing for all project components. Ensure estimates are comprehensive and reflect the true costs associated with completing each project. Budget Management: Implement and maintain cost monitoring and budget management procedures to track project expenses throughout their lifecycle. Proactively identify and address potential cost overruns or budget discrepancies.
- Proposal and Bid Preparation: Create detailed and accurate proposals and bids, including project scopes, schedules, and cost summaries. Present these proposals to clients and stakeholders to secure contracts.
- Supplier, Vendor, and Subcontractor Relations: Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the procurement of quality materials and timely deliveries. Negotiate pricing and terms to optimize cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with sales representatives, project managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are met and estimates are aligned with project goals.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, budget adherence, and any potential risks to management and relevant team members.
Qualifications:
- Construction estimating: 5 years (Required)
- Ability to Commute: Vienna, VA (Required)
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with a focus on residential projects, including custom homes and renovations, as well as light commercial fit-outs.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, along with a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000-$150,000 In the form of a base Salary based upon experience and qualifications in addition to commission on awarded and completed projects.
