Alger Height Senior Living Community in Grand Rapids is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director of Wellness to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our community.
If you have management experience and demonstrated compassion towards the elderly, we are looking for you. This is an on-call position. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations, covering shifts as needed, and ensuring the well-being of our seniors, which includes assisting with ADLs. Caring for seniors, being on-call, and managing care staff are requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Mentor, provide support, training and direction to Resident Assistants and Med Techs
- Follow up on issues, review 24 hours logs –corrective actions for med errors, absences, etc.
- Assess any care complaints
- Conduct QA audits, review Incident reports/med errors and put interventions/training in place
- Identifies on-going needs and services of residents in promotion of the highest quality resident services to be delivered
- Maintains communications with resident’s family and or responsible party to ensure medical needs are being met
- Contact resident’s attending physician when necessary and/or upon family request
- Assess, monitors and follows up with residents who have experienced any fall, accident or incident; documents and reports as required and directed
- Monitors the Medication Room, med charts and treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications
- Assist residents with care: dressing, bathing and toileting as needed
- Be available for afterhours clinical concerns as needed
- Schedule and interview applicants.
- Responsible for clinical oversight of all resident care services and all wellness related Specialty Programs.
- Responsible to provide strong leadership support to all clinical and wellness team members.
- Meet with each new admit to discussing needs and expectations, audit of med waiver and private pay charting, updates to med waiver counselors, and med cart audit every other week.
- Order clinical supplies.
- End of month: monthly private pay ADL flow sheet changeover, monthly shower sheet distribution, billing support.

Requirements needed:
- Prior experience managing a senior living facility (2 years).
- Able to be on-call for all three shifts, as needed.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and delegate responsibilities to the appropriate individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations.
- Proficient in organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as needed for resident care/services, must be available to our residents at peak service times and as needed.
