Job Description:
The North Canton Child Development Center is a program center of the North Canton Community Building YMCA in the Association of the YMCA of Central Stark County. The North Canton YMCA branch serves 14,500 members and consists of three buildings. The North Canton Y is looking for an energetic and conscientious leader with excellent knowledge and skills in the area of child development and business administration. The Child Development Director is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of a year-round child care program for children Birth - 12 years of age and a summer day camp.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in child development, education or its equivalent
- Three to five years managing a licensed child care operation
- Strong communication, supervisory, and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- The ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Essential Functions of the position include:
- Manages, directs, and coordinates year round child care
- Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed and ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected
- Director must also monitor program service fees, receivables, payables, and scholarships affecting the financial picture of the program
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas and ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed
- Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups, and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs, as well as responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
