JOB TITLE: Resident Assistant (2nd Shift)
LOCATION: Smithfield, RI
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure general safety and structure of the shelter by monitoring resident activities as they pertain to shelter rules and policies..
•  Maintain general operation of the shelter
• Complete 30-minute circuits of the shelter space
• Provide crisis intervention with the assistance of on call staff respond to resident concerns (provide concern form if needed) record all incidents on a typed incident form.
• Handle all client information confidentially 
• Observe and record any potential safety concerns regarding the building, procedures, and/or individuals (residents and guests) at the shelter. 
• Exercise the ability to de-escalate conflict between clients and perform any crisis intervention that may cause a concern for safety or one or multiple individuals.

Successful candidates will have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent 
• BCI
• Valid driver's license
• Empathic of others, a person who genuinely wants to help the less fortunate.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. 
• Related human service experience a plus.
