About the Job
Barrier Free Living, Inc. (BFL) / Freedom House for People With Disabilities (FH) is dedicated to helping New Yorkers with disabilities live independently in the community. Through its various programs, BFL/FH provides a broad range of residential and non-residential services to disabled survivors of domestic violence, transitional shelter to the disabled homeless, and outreach to physically disabled individuals with mental health and/or chemical addiction issues. Services include case management; housing placements; independent living skills training; occupational therapy; short- and long-term individual counseling; advocacy within the medical, mental health, child welfare, law enforcement, and criminal justice systems; and referrals to outside services.
Shift Supervisors report to the Resident Aide Manager and are responsible for:

- The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the facility during weekends and Holidays.
- Responsibilities include supervision of part-time Resident aides, oversight of security and safety regulations.
- Participate in Resident Aide Meetings, required training, and BFL Town Hall Meetings.
- Review, complete, and update, Intake telephone screening, intake forms, database (SORTS), Apartment stats, and security logging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree Preferred.
- Minimum of two years prior experience working in a residential setting.
- Strong oral communication skills and fundamental writing competency are required.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment and work well under pressure.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Spanish or other non-English language skills and/or American Sign Language skills are a plus.
- Computer Literate.
Start Date: ASAP
Position Available: PartTime
Hours: 14-21 hours per week - Saturday, Sunday, and all holidays
Hourly Rate: $18.30
