About the Job
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Laboratory synthesis in support of new product development, cost reduction and optimization projects. Day to day direction given by lead researcher; Work focuses on reaction fundamentals, operating limit determinations and separations.
Need a strong focus and recognition of lab hazards; This area of work includes participation in design hazard reviews
Analysis of laboratory and plant samples using various techniques including but not limited to chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology and titrations
Mechanical construction of laboratory setups and equipment including working with compression fittings and small gauge tubing
Assisting with plant trials on site to help with technology transfer.
Documentation of laboratory results, collection of lab data, some basic calculations and interpretation of results
Active participation in lab safety program including training, laboratory inspections, job safety analysis, identification of hazard potentials and task observations
