About the Job
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs research support at the entry level in a large Neuroscience laboratory. Is responsible for data analysis tasks involving some complexity and variety that comprise a coherent part of the larger project.
**TYPICAL DUTIES:**
+ With guidance and supervision, prepares histological material. Plans and performs a variety of moderately-complex laboratory tests such as operating a cryostat, performing immunofluorescent staining, tracing histological sections, and taking photomicrographs.
+ With guidance and supervision, analyzes histological material with computer-aided microscopy. Compiles data for studies and experiments.
+ Extracts data, requiring some theoretical insight and interpretation of empirical data; prepares and analyzes test reports.
+ Provides general support to the faculty, postdocs and technicians in the Goldman lab
+ Assists with managements of mouse colonies, including genotyping, and animal handling.
+ May perform other specialized duties in process or service laboratories.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Math/Statistics, and / or Neuroscience preferred.
+ 5 year’s experience with performing basic sampling, monitoring or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Applicants should be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative setting.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication.
+ Ability to readily learn new experimental techniques.
+ Strong analytical, communication, organizational and computer skills.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $ 20.92 - $ 29.29 Hourly

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
