The Coriell Institute for Medical Research is seeking a Research to join our research team. This position will contribute to Coriell’s scientific research efforts primarily in epigenetics and drug discovery.
The Research Technician will work on a project that seeks to uncover mechanisms of gene regulation, and use this information in cancer drug development. This individual will be responsible for assisting in experiments such as culturing cells, drug treatment, fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry and sorting, gene expression analysis by qPCR and Western blotting, chromatin immune precipitation, DNA methylation analysis, single-cell RNA expression and epigenomics. The Research Technician may also be responsible for performing animal husbandry, genotyping, tissue collection, drug treatments and monitoring animals for tumor formation and lifespan.
Required Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree or at least three years of related research experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Ability to keep accurate records of research performed to NIH standards.

*Ability to work both independently and within a group.
*Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines and be detail-oriented.
*Ability to adjust to changing priorities and schedules.
*Must be able to operate all standard office and laboratory equipment.
*Willingness to learn new methodologies.
*Demonstrated ability in basic molecular and cellular biology techniques including PCR, and Cell Culture.
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
* Experience with molecular biology, culture techniques, and work with small laboratory animals.
