Job Description Summary

This Research Specialist A will be part of a dynamic and expanding research program focused on hereditary gastrointestinal cancer predisposition, with a specific emphasis on studies focused on colorectal cancer and gastric cancer. The position will be focused on performing experiments and processing human biosamples within a basic science laboratory within the Division of Gastroenterology and within Penn’s Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program.

Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include a wide range of basic science techniques, including work with human biosamples, performing cell culture experiments, establishing and maintaining human-derived organoids, and working with mouse models and managing a mouse colony. Additionally, this position with have substantial collaborations and interactions with other members of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program, including both clinical and basic science research staff, as well as with other collaborating labs and investigators within and outside of Penn’s Perelman School of Medicine

Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
