About the Job
Coring Research & Development Corporation seeks Research Scientist, Optics to work at our research facility in Painted Post, New York. Apply fundamental optical physics principles to demonstrate novel optical components, imaging/display systems, or metrology; work w/ project teams to develop optical components for display, consumer electronics, photonics, or other emerging optical technologies; model, design, & measure optical structures to produce desired refractive, diffractive, or scattering properties; document findings in invention disclosures, technical reports, & patent applications. May involve up to 5% domestic travel. Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Photonics, or closely related field. 1 year of experience modeling and measuring optical structures w/ refractive, diffractive, or scattering properties. Experience: applying optical physics principles to develop optical components for display, consumer electronic, or photonic technologies; researching & analyzing optical material treatment techniques (i.e. anti-reflective surfaces, micro- and nano-surface structures, fabricating textures); using statistical tools to process & analyze experimental results; & authoring technical reports, external journal publications, or patent applications.
