The All of Us Research Program is a research program from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and part of the Precision Medicine Initiative.
The UCI led All of Us Southern California Consortium (AoUSCC) focusing on precision medicine research is seeking to employ a Research Program Administrator Officer for the Genetic Epidemiology Research Institute (GERI) and All of Us Precision Medicine Research Program at UCI. This position includes management and administration of operations including program planning, finance, human resources, IT, facilities, coordination of activities and working directly with the Principal Investigator to coordinate and manage teams’ activities from several All of Us Research Program member institutions in Southern California.
Looking for an experienced professional who works in a team setting to analyze immediate and long-term priorities and issues of diverse scope, program building, and progression. Determines solutions to address developing challenges while continuing efforts to build the research program. The program includes member institutions in addition to UCI, who are affiliated and directly financially supported by the program. The candidate will manage, plan, and administer the operations, communications, and organization of the research program.
This position reports to the director of GERI and the Principal Investigator of the All of Us Southern California Consortium Research Program. The candidate will be the point of contact between the components of the research program.
Role in the research program: The candidate demonstrates good judgment in working as part of the multidisciplinary leadership team to coordinate activities including research planning and progress meetings, determine the best methods and techniques to ensure progress and designing solutions to challenges.
- Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management. Preferred
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Required
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. Required
- Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Preferred
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Required
- Skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service. Required
- Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees. Required
- Demonstrated problem solving capabilities to resolve concerns that arise unexpectedly. Preferred
- Demonstrated ability to research, properly evaluate information, and prepare concise, well-organized reports, summaries, and correspondence. Preferred
- Ability to independently exercise discretion and sound judgment including supervision of staff. Preferred
- Demonstrated skill in interacting with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. Required
- Ability to prioritize assignments and achieve high productivity/quality with short time frames, under rigid deadlines, and /or in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands. Required
- Strong attention to detail. Required
